Every year the discussion of “when China will surpass the USA to become the number 1 economy” pops up more and more. Economic analysts, diplomats, foreign policy experts, business titans, random news jockeys and the perennial politicians pore over graphs and stats and wonder when the D-day will arrive.
Americans are gloomy about their country, which is a tad strange for a country which genuinely believes it is a click above all the rest. The USA export powerhouse after the world did great. It exported not only cars, radios, technology but above all it exported a way of life. All over the world consumers are enjoying their coke while gulping their burgers while going to enjoy the latest Hollywood blockbuster, many youngsters all over the world dream to get an education in the states. Yes there are copycats and local alternatives but all are shaped by what Americans did first and then exported to the world. Read more of this post
