The word entrepreneur always sounded very powerful, very young and sexy and yet I am not sure what it means. Shall we?

According to Wikipedia an entrepreneur is a person who has possession of a new enterprise, venture or idea and is accountable for the inherent risks and the outcome.^{[1][note 1]} The term was originally a loanword from French and was first defined by the Irish-French economist Richard Cantillon. Entrepreneur in English is a term applied to a person who is willing to launch a new venture or enterprise and accept full responsibility for the outcome. Jean-Baptiste Say, a French economist, is believed to have coined the word “entrepreneur” in the 19th century – he defined an entrepreneur as “one who undertakes an enterprise, especially a contractor, acting as intermediary between capital and labour”.

Who doesn’t love success stories? Like girls dream of princes this way wanabe entrepreneurs like success stories. Let’s concentrate in on the part of the definition from Wikipedia that speaks of inheriting risks and accepting full responsibility. Presumable to become an entrepreneur you have to do both and that is why sometimes ideas stay inside our closets because there is not enough risk love (rolling the dices – risk is one of my favorite topics as you will find out next).

Zuckerman took the risk and he became an entrepreneur; and a successful one; one we all love and envy. Have you ever imagined yourself as Zukerman? I know I have and I also know that there are quite a few people that had the same idea of creating Facebook but never took the chance…nobody believed in them… circumstances were not right.. I could go on and on…giving excuses. The bottom line is that if you have an idea just do it. It won’t hurt you and this is what the world needs. I am from Greece and I know we lack initiative here..yes its hard yes it’s impossible but we had the time and energy to find sideways to fulfill our goals for so many decades in a most dishonest way I think we could use this intelligent and wits to become entrepreneurs; to produce ideas and realize them into something tangible something successful.

So stop nagging and swearing and start acting… you have the need you have the motivation you have a goal all you need is action. I hope I read about you on the papers tomorrow…
